Whenhewas11yearsold,hemovedtotheEastwithhiswidowedmother.In1894,hepublishedhisfirstpoemMyButterfly:AnElegyBetween1892and1900,hemarriedElinorMiriamWhiteandbeganraisinghisfamilywhileheworkedinmills,taughtschool,andattendedDartmouthCollegeandHarvardUniversity.
In1900,FrostmovedtoafarminDerry,Hampshire.
In1911hesoldhisfarmandmovedhisfamilytoEnglandinthefollowingyearandbeganwritingpoetryfull-time.In1915hereturnedtotheUSandbecameextremelypopular.
FrostwasawardedthePulitzerPrizeforpoetryin1924,1931,1937,and1943.In1961hewasinvitedtoreadhispoem"TheGiftOutright"atthelatePresident,JohnF.Kennedy’sinauguralceremonies.
RobertFrostdiedonthe29thofJanuary1963inBoston,Massachusetts. Hisgravestonereads‘IHadALover’sQuarrelWithTheWorld’.
